He fitted them together, forming a bipedal creature with a small box for its head, a large one for its torso, and smaller crates for its limbs. Once the figure was complete, the toymaker used the last of his magical energy, infusing the creation with a powerful soul-binding spell. And then, Jack in the Box was born.
But Jack wasn’t quite what the toymaker expected. While animated and intelligent, the creature had no memory or sense of purpose. It wandered the streets of Talmuth, confused and out of place. Its creaky wooden frame startled villagers, and the constant popping of its head’s lid made it an eerie sight.
