The Forgotten Creation
Long ago, in a forgotten corner of Talmuth, a lonely toymaker lived, known for crafting intricate wooden marionettes and enchanted figures. Obsessed with the idea of creating life, he began experimenting with ancient, forbidden magic. His dream was to bring to life a companion that could move, think, and even feel.
He started with humble materials: wooden boxes that he had lying around his workshop. He fitted them together, forming a bipedal creature with a small box for its head, a large one for its torso, and smaller crates for its limbs. Once the figure was complete, the toymaker used the last of his magical energy, infusing the creation with a powerful soul-binding spell. And then, Jack in the Box was born.
But Jack wasn’t quite what the toymaker expected. While animated and intelligent, the creature had no memory or sense of purpose. It wandered the streets of Talmuth, confused and out of place. Its creaky wooden frame startled villagers, and the constant popping of its head’s lid made it an eerie sight.
Fearing what he had unleashed, the toymaker tried to undo his work, but Jack resisted. Over the years, the creature found a new purpose—uncovering relics and treasures lost to time. Jack became a relic itself—a living creation of wood and magic, cursed with a life it never asked for.
Now, those who find Jack in the Box can unlock its power, adopting the appearance of this bizarre wooden enigma. But beware, for the echo of the toymaker’s magic still lingers within, and Jack’s curious spirit may live on in those who don his form. Allows shapeshifting into this form.
