Being the famous mount of ""Landor The Great"", one would expect a life of debilitating fatigue, but Grimsteed made it look easy, ushering his devoted rider into battles, like a whisper through tumultuous winds.
This all changed during the great battle of Thorberth plains, as an unexpected encounter with Conqueron, left Landor and his stable companion, in a fight for their very lives. Needless to say, things didn't quite work out for the great duo, as thousands of Slenderbone ascended upon them, taring them limb from limb.
As you can imagine, Landor did not fare too well. Grimsteed on the other hand, Conqueron had a bone to pick with him, and felt a regime change would make for a far more desirable conclusion, or rather, a new beginning!

Awakening 1000 skeletal warriors from the great Norkast crypts, he took a small number of them and bound them with a malicious force that took a shadowy form.
Sillduin then instilled upon these select skeletons a deep rage to destroy all that would stand before them and set them as chiefs over the skeletal horde.
Finally, he armed them with supreme dark axes bound in the same undulating shadow that surrounded the chiefs.
This army proved very difficult for the warriors of Essimrey to overcome but, after many lengthy battles, the skeleton army of Sillduin was defeated.
It is said that some of these shadow bound skeletons can still be encountered in the dark places of the world...

Marsh was clearly possessed, and could not be reasoned with. Attempting to remove this medallion from around Marsh's neck wasn't an option, as he was far too powerful. The tribe had no other option but to pierce an arrow through his heart, in order to end the madness, and they did just that.
After that fateful day, the Makah tribe vowed to protect the medallion with their lives, in which to avoid an occurrence like that ever taking place again.
