Red Templar

The Templars taught him discipline, duty, and the proper handling of a blade. He mastered the blade. The other lessons proved less enduring.

After years of guarding vaults and escorting dignitaries, he began volunteering for the missions nobody else wanted. Ruined strongholds. Missing patrols. Things beneath the earth that had learned to open doors. He returned from each with battered crimson armor and valuables conspicuously absent from his reports.

Eventually, the Order demanded an explanation. He offered his resignation instead.

Now known simply as Red Templar, he follows rumors of dangerous creatures and forgotten riches wherever they lead. His former brothers call him greedy. Those who have fought beside him know he'll hold the line when others flee.

Besides, a dead companion can hardly help carry the loot.
