May Veylan

May Veylan learned her trade restoring damaged artifacts for a provincial collector. Years spent examining worn inscriptions, concealed mechanisms, and convincing forgeries gave her an eye for details that most adventurers would walk straight past.

When her employer acquired a fragment bearing the same diamond-shaped mark found on a long-abandoned ruin, May asked to investigate. He refused, locked the fragment away, and promptly began arranging an expedition without her.

May left before dawn. She had already copied the inscription, and had no intention of letting someone else take credit for her discovery.
