Aralen Vire, famed battlemage of the Onyx Watch, crafted the ring for her apprentice, a gifted young scout named Thale who fought not with spells, but with flawless aim and boundless speed. The two were inseparable on the battlefield, magic and arrow working in perfect rhythm.

When the siege of Hollowreach began, Aralen knew her magic alone would not be enough to protect Thale. She spent three days locked in silence, forging a ring laced with aetheric threads that would accelerate his every movement, letting him outrun even fate.

He never got to wear it.

Struck down before the final enchantment cooled, Thale died within sight of the tower where Aralen waited. She found his body moments later, the unfinished ring still warm in her hands.

No one knows what happened to her afterward. Only that the ring was later found pulsing faintly, as if yearning to complete the promise it once failed to keep.
