The Hollowing

The Hollowing

Overview

Something wicked is stirring across Lunaria.

For the past two years, Hallofun brought a smaller dose of Halloween mischief to Lost Relics. This October, things are getting a little more sinister.

The Hollowing has begun.

For the entire month of October, strange pumpkins are appearing throughout Lunaria, Hollowheads are roaming the towns, and Darthrauka has once again emerged with a collection of questionable wares.

The Halloween events of old packed a lot into a frantic couple of weeks. This time, we're giving The Hollowing an entire month to unfold.

There's no leaderboard to chase and no need to spend every waking hour hunting Halloween rewards. Instead, The Hollowing will weave its way through adventures, challenges, and towns across Lost Relics.

Ring a few doorbells. Hunt down roaming Hollowheads. Crack open Sinister Squash. Collect Creepy Coins. Chase down the rarer treasures if that's your thing.

Or just keep adventuring and see what October throws at you.

The Hollowing lasts all month, so enjoy it at your own pace.

The Hollowing

Throughout October, Sinister Squash can be found across a wide range of activities.

Sinister Squash

You'll receive:

  • Doorbells: 1 Sinister Squash
  • Descending Nightmare / Hellfire: 1 Sinister Squash per floor
  • Echoes of Time: 1 Sinister Squash
  • Valdrath Highlands: 2 Sinister Squash
  • Frostfall Siege / Supremacy: Up to 3 Sinister Squash
  • Standard Adventures: Up to 50 Sinister Squash can drop each day

Doorbells can be found throughout the towns and will refresh over time, so make sure to check back throughout the month.

But pumpkins aren't the only sign that something strange is happening.

Hollowheads are roaming the towns.

Hunt them down and you'll receive Creepy Coins for each one defeated.

Smash Some Squash

That devilish grin is hiding something.

Crack open a Sinister Squash and you'll usually discover a stash of Creepy Coins inside.

Usually.

Sinister Squash Rewards

The particularly fortunate may uncover something much rarer, including Collectible Statues or the new Wick of the Wicked Artifact.

If you'd rather not tempt fate, Sinister Squash can also be traded with other Adventurers through the Royal Emporium, but you'll impact your ability to collect Creepy Coins, and the Collectible Statues.

Wick of the Wicked

Among the rarest treasures hidden within Sinister Squash is a new Artifact, the Wick of the Wicked.

Wick of the Wicked

Lit on the last night of the harvest, these candles once guided the dead back to their graves. This one was left burning.

Crimson wax weeps from its iron skull, yet the candle never grows shorter. Each strike lands harder while its flame feeds on the life of whoever carries it.

While equipped, the Wick of the Wicked increases damage dealt by 20%, but its unending flame drains 15 HP every second.

Power always has a price.

The Wick of the Wicked can be discovered as a rare reward from Sinister Squash, or acquired directly from Darthrauka during The Hollowing.

Collectible Statues

Something else has found its way inside the Sinister Squash this year.

Collectible Statues can rarely be discovered when smashing pumpkins throughout The Hollowing.

Collectible Statues

Find them in your pumpkins before The Hollowing comes to an end, or trade for them with other Adventurers.

Something at the Door

The doorbells are back.

Throughout the towns you'll find homes waiting for brave Adventurers to come knocking.

Doorbells

Ring a doorbell and you'll receive a Sinister Squash.

Once a doorbell has been claimed, it'll need some time before there's anyone foolish enough to answer it again.

Check back later and you might find another pumpkin waiting for you.

Creepy Coins

Creepy Coins

The familiar currency of Halloween returns.

You'll find Creepy Coins by:

  • Defeating Hollowheads roaming the towns
  • Cracking open Sinister Squash

Take your collection to Darthrauka, who has once again decided that creepy currency is perfectly acceptable payment.

Probably best not to ask why.

Darthrauka's Collection

Darthrauka has returned with an assortment of collectibles, artifacts, and suspicious confectionery.

Darthrauka

During The Hollowing, Creepy Coins can be exchanged for:

  • Wick of the Wicked, limited to one per account
  • Sinister Squashfire Mantle, limited to one per account
  • Darthrauka's Harvest, limited to one per account
  • Twisted Licorice
  • Cranium Cake
  • Phantom Pop
  • Chillbite Chew

The candies might look harmless.

They're not.

Wicked Treats

The Hollowing brings back four familiar treats, each capable of temporarily twisting the rules in your favour.

Rewards

Twisted Licorice: Get those arms pumped up! Twisted Licorice temporarily enlarges your arms and gives you a 10% chance to deal 500% weapon damage for 2 minutes.

Phantom Pop: Feeling ghostly? Phantom Pop boosts your attack speed by 25% for 2 minutes.

Cranium Cake: Double the size of your head, boosting your critical hit chance by 25% for 2 minutes. The bigger the head, the bigger the strikes!

Chillbite Chew: Give your attacks an icy bite. For 2 minutes, attacks can freeze enemies for 2 seconds on hit.

Combine their effects, experiment with ridiculous combinations, or hoard them until you inevitably convince yourself there's a better time to use them.

One Month of Mischief

The Hollowing will remain active throughout October.

Play what you want. Ring a few doorbells when you're passing through town. Hunt down Hollowheads when you spot them. Descend into Hellfire. Venture into the Highlands. Defend against Frostfall.

The Hollowing is happening all across Lost Relics.

But when October ends, so does the magic.

Your Creepy Coins, Sinister Squash, and event candies will crumble to dust when The Hollowing comes to an end, so make sure you use them while you can.

The statues, the mantle, the painting, and Wick of the Wicked?

Those are yours to keep.

Happy Hollowing, Adventurers.
