The Great Simplification

The Great Simplification

Dear grinders,

Over the past few years we've mainly focused on expanding the game. Now that most of the core systems are in place, we finally have the opportunity to review them and simplify where possible. The goal is to create a cleaner economy, reduce fragmentation, and make each currency and container feel more meaningful.

Over the upcoming updates you'll see containers and currencies being retired, while others will be renamed or reworked. Our aim is to create a more streamlined experience and make the game easier for new players to understand.

This first update includes the below changes.

Golden Grind Chests

With Enchanted Stones → Enchanted Island Scrolls now providing a steady source of gold for F2P players, the original purpose of Golden Grind Chests has become outdated.

That doesn't mean we're getting rid of them! Instead, they'll become an event reward. At the start of every new Expedition, Golden Grind Chests will have increased drop rates for two weeks before disappearing again... until the next Expedition.

Or perhaps as a surprise?

Mysterious Nest, Sunken Treasure Trove & Deepsea Coffer

These containers will be retired.

Many of you will remember the excitement of finding Dried Blush Berries, Gradeim Pumpkins, and other BC items directly from gathering. While that era has come to an end, these containers served as a nice bridge.

Now it's time for the next step. Don't worry though, there's still something cool for gathering. Keep reading!

Note: We've also unified the skill level requirements for finding Arcane Fragments. Whether you're Scavenging or Fishing, you'll now unlock the corresponding Arcane Fragments at levels 10, 20, and 30.

Arcane Fragments (Legendary) and Potion Pack have been removed from gathering.

Timemaster's Chest

The Timemaster's Chest is getting a new identity.

Going forward, it will focus on limited-time cosmetics, including head cosmetics, back cosmetics, paintings, and housing decorations. After a period of time, these rewards will rotate out and won't return.

To prepare for this change, we've already removed the Snapdragon's Dawn from its drop table and increased the drop rate of Arcane Fragments.

Shatterfest Orb

The Shatterfest Orb has received a major loot table update.

We've added the collectibles previously found in the Mysterious Nest, Deepsea Coffer (including Mystic Kraken Ink from Fisherking Nautica), and Snapdragon's Dawn, while also increasing their overall drop rates.

In addition, there are now two new ways to obtain a Shatterfest Orb:

  • 5,000 Nature's Gift
  • 800,000 Gold Coins

Happy treasure hunting!

Retired Containers

If you're still holding any of the retired containers, feel free to open them whenever you'd like.

At a later date, we'll automatically open any remaining containers and send their contents to you as an in-game gift, so you won't miss out on any rewards.

  • Removed the option to buy Mystic Kraaken Ink with gold
  • Removed the option to buy Peppermint Pekoe with gold
  • Removed the option to buy Ring of the Wretched with gold
